Will this car pay for itself on Turo?

Enter a car and what you would pay for it. See what it earns, what it costs, and what it is worth when you sell, year by year, starting from rates on real Turo listings.

How the numbers work

  • Revenue is your daily rate times the days booked, after Turo's cut for your protection plan.
  • Costs include insurance, registration, maintenance as the miles add up, and loan payments if you finance.
  • Resale value follows depreciation for the make and model, adjusted for mileage.
  • Taxes use your bracket, with the option to take bonus depreciation in the first year.

Questions

Where do the daily rate and utilization numbers come from?
They start from scans of active Turo listings. Change either number to match what you see in your area.
How does it estimate what the car is worth when I sell it?
It follows depreciation curves for the make and model where we have them, and falls back to age and mileage bands otherwise. Enter a VIN and it anchors on a live market price for that car.
Does it include taxes?
Yes. It estimates the depreciation deduction, the tax it saves at your bracket, and the tax you would owe back on that depreciation when you sell.
Is it free?
Yes. Every number is free to explore, and you can download the full year-by-year report as a PDF.
